Differentiating Strategic Reading: Meeting the Needs of All Your Readers
 This session will focus on the variety of ways that reading strategies can be used to differentiate instruction, as well as ways to differentiate the strategies themselves. Participants will explore manageable ways to use multiple texts and to change the ways students use texts to meet their readiness, interest, and learning style needs.

Strategies for Developing a Differentiated Classroom 
”I’d like to differentiate my instruction but I’m not sure where to begin. How will I manage students working at different levels? Won’t this be a lot of extra work?” Attend this session and learn about the basic components of differentiation and management techniques for operating a differentiated classroom. “Use-it” tomorrow strategies to help students at all levels of readiness, interest and learning profiles grasp content, process learning and develop products will be presented. Participants will have an opportunity to develop a differentiated lesson incorporating one or more of the strategies presented in the session.

Reading Strategies for the Math Classroom 
”I wasn’t trained to be a reading teacher. I am a math teacher.” This session will explain what reading in mathematics means and actively engage participants in hands-on experiences for teaching reading in math. Participants will be provided specific, practical activities and strategies that they can use immediately in math classes to assist students with their reading skills.

Reading Strategies for the Science Classroom 
”I wasn’t trained to be a reading teacher. I am a science teacher.” This session will explain what reading in science means and actively engage participants in hands-on experiences for teaching reading in science. Participants will be provided specific, practical activities and strategies that they can use immediately in the classroom to assist students with their reading skills.
